Coincardi Partners with FINCI to Launch Innovative Card Payment Solution

Vilnius, Lithuania - 2nd October 2024.

In an exciting development for the fintech sector, Lithuanian Electronic Money Institution, FINCI, has partnered with Coincardi to introduce a new co-branded payment card programme.
By issuing Mastercard-powered cards, Coincardi and FINCI are helping to improve financial inclusion and usher in more advanced payment services across Lithuania.

Spend digital assets on everyday items

The card features a real-time conversion process, managed entirely by Coincardi, that transforms digital assets into fiat currency right before a transaction, and Coincardi customers will easily be able integrate the card into their financial ecosystem via the updated app, and use it to spend digital assets.

This innovation bridges the gap between digital funds and everyday spending, making it easier for their customers to use digital assets to pay for regular purchases in fiat currency, at over 100 million locations worldwide where Mastercard is accepted.

The bridge between traditional Finance and DeFi

This collaboration between traditional and digital financial experts in the Baltics introduces a more versatile payment solution, offering fully functional Mastercard debit cards, with future plans to integrate virtually via Apple Pay and Google Pay.

"Our goal has always been to contribute to the wider adoption of seamless digital payments, and now we've achieved this," said Coincardi founder Oleg Koreks.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Coincardi and support their mission of making digital asset transactions effortless," said Aleksey Pondin, FINCI's Chief Technology Officer. "From technical integrations to regulatory compliance and card management, we've developed a process that makes it easy for firms to launch their own payment solutions."

FINCI is a forward-thinking brand, unafraid to pioneer new trends in the fintech space. It was one of the first companies in the Baltic region to start a digital asset-based card project with Mastercard. In 2023 the company also earned the Lithuanian Fintech Innovator of the Year Award for its implementation of instant cross-border payouts, using Ripple's blockchain technology.
