What are we nominated for?
FINCI has been recognised for accelerating the use of blockchain technology in order to make cross-border payments faster.
From day one of FINCI, we have always thought it is crazy that you can fly to a country before your digital payment gets there (and that you’ll win that race by a couple of days). So we partnered with Ripple Payments, to introduce their instant blockchain-powered payouts (being the first to do so in the Baltic region).
But it was also Temenos’s leading cloud technology that made this all possible. Initially connecting to their platform in a record four months, we have since used their technology to rapidly onboard new payment providers.

Provided a core system
– Temenos Transact, their core cloud-based banking system, has allowed FINCI to easily integrate with the next generation of payment networks, such as Ripple Payments. We can now onboard new payment providers in weeks, without a huge investment in internal IT staff. This gives us a competitive advantage, helping us take new products and services to market faster.
Prevented financial crime
– Temenos FCM (Financial Crime Mitigation) system has enabled FINCI to identify potential sanctions and anti-money laundering breaches before a payment completes. With payments screening completed in seconds, it gives us the capability to process instant payments.
Ensured reliable payments
– Temenos’s software has allowed us to scale our business without sacrificing speed or reliability. We can process thousands of requests per second, without slowing down the entire system, and all while operating cost effectively in the cloud.
